Tajikistan

                     

          Tajikistan is a sunny mountainous country. It is situated in the Central Asia. In the south Tajikistan borders on Afghanistan and China. In the north it borders on Kazakhstan and in the west it borders on Kirghistan.

          The area of Tajikistan is 143, 100 square kilometers. The population of our republic is more than 6 million. Till 1991 Tajikistan was one of the Soviet Socialist Republic. In September 1991 our Tajikistan got independence and became one of independent countries of the world. The capital of Tajikistan is Dushanbe. There are many beautiful towns in Tajikistan. They are Khujand, Kulob, Kharoj, Tursun-soda, Konibodom, Isfara and others.

          Our country is rich in natural resources as; oil, gas, coal, gold, silver and  building materials. There are many cotton- cleaning plants, food factories, chemical plants and hydropower stations in Tajikistan. There are more than 530 rivers in our Republic. The largest of them are Sirdaryo, Vahsh, Panj, Zarafshon and others.

         The climate of Tajikistan is mild. It is hot in summer and very cold in winter. In winter we usually have no much snow. It often rains in Spring and others.

         Every year in September 9-th we celebrate the independence of our country. In 2001 we celebrated the 10-th anniversary of the independence of Tajikistan. We like our Tajikistan very much.
